So... I was just sitting here watching The Lion King and decided I might as well write a meaningless blog post.
I love this movie so much. I think if I had to choose one movie to watch for the rest of my life, I would pick this one. You know, when I sit down and watch this, I want to cry in the beginning just because I love this movie as much as I do. My heart still breaks every time Mufasa dies. I love it when Mufasa's spirit visits Simba near the end. It makes me feel good when Simba finally realizes who he is.
As I got older I figured out who did the voices for Simba and such. At times I try not to think of the actors as I know them now so I can still enjoy the show as I did when I was younger.
I remember when they had Lion King toys at Burger King one time and I got a Rafiki toy and I found it most amusing that he had a blue butt.. I laughed hysterically. But then my mom or dad said "And how would you feel if you had a blue butt and everyone was laughing at you?" I'm pretty sure they said that anyways. I'm also pretty sure I still laughed about his blue butt anyways.
When I got to go see it in 3D I cried a lot of the time just from excitement. When I got it on DVD I discovered that the Blue-ray had bloopers/ outtakes, I was so excited. I found them to be quite hilarious! It was really neat to see something so funny on a movie I already love.
I still have my Simba stuffed animal I got the first time I went to Disney Land. That was like... almost 18 years ago. (wow that makes me feel old.) Then Ash got me another one when they went to Vegas. It's so cute. :)
I had Lion King everything when I was little. You know, bed sheets, comforter, lamp, pillowcases, light swtich covers.... I wish I could get them again. I'd use them. Even now.
As a kid I found it most amusing they wouldn't say the word 'farted'. Well, that's what I thought they meant and I'm sticking to it. I also don't pay attention to all the crap about how you can see the word sex in it. I think it takes away from the movie. But whatever...
I can't believe that I just sat here and wrote a blog post on The Lion King...

So... Yeah
Well, Danika told me today that it's been a while since I've done anything with my blog. I'd have to agree with her. I mean... last I wrote was in February. Lame... Well, I shall fix that since I am here tonight. :)
Hmm... What has happened since February... Quite a lot actually.
I quit working as a part time custodian at Fairfield Jr High. It had been 5 years since I started. I think I quit there on like the 15th of August. Even after being out of a job since then, I don't regret my decision to leave. I think it was best for everyone. It's worked out well actually. I went and visited Danika, Tom, and Dan last Friday and Tom (the boss) will even tell you that I look a lot happier now. I'm on to bigger and better things now. :)
Then my mom had a hysterectomy on August 24th and all was well until 3 weeks later. She wasn't feeling good that Monday when she went to the doctor. We just sort of passed it off as a stomach ache. *shrug* Anyways, as the week went on she got to feeling worse. When Saturday rolled around we started telling her she needed to go to the hospital but she wouldn't listen. I even offered to DRIVE her down to where she wanted to go and she didn't take the offer. Finally on Monday we got her to agree to go to the hospital. It wasn't a pleasant experience that night. I swear we spent like an hour or so waiting to get into the ER and then like 5 hours or whatever AFTER that for them to figure out what was wrong and get her moved to a room. She was there until the following Monday. But I suppose it was all worth it since she felt much better afterwards. I did learn one thing though when I visited her the Friday before she came home. I learned that it's not good for me to be on the phone with my Grandma Smith with my dad AND mom telling me what to say. The most intelligent thing that will come out of my mouth is: "You no come now." Yeah... I'm real smart. ;)
Then, in September I went to Estes Park, Colorado for the Scottish Festival with Danika, her mom, and a bunch of her mom's friends. I had an absolutely splendid time. I so didn't want to come home. The festival was awesome. I got a real sword! I love it. :) The guy who was selling the swords was really hilariously awesome. I also got to sit through the Tattoo. I wasn't sure I would like it very much but I ended up enjoying it quite a lot. Then I also got to go on a Ghost and History tour of The Stanley Hotel. It was kinda neat. Unfortunately I didn't capture any paranormal evidence. Hey, maybe if I get the money and time one day I can go back for one of the Ghost hunts they do or whatever it is. It's like $50 dollars and at night you go on a 4 hour paranormal investigation type of thing. I think that would be way fun! We stayed at The Silver Moon Inn. It was a very nice hotel. It was within walking distance of all the good stores and the restaurants. I had fun sharing a room with Danika because I didn't have to worry about keeping everything in its place. :) I mean, you're on vacation in a hotel. That's not the time to be neat and orderly. Hehe :) Anyways, I am totes going back there someday. I even enjoyed the 8 hour car ride on my birthday to come home. :)
I think the worst thing about October was when I was house sitting for Danika that first weekend. I had gotten their mail like I always do when I house sit for them. Danika had gotten a magazine and I figured "Hey, what the heck. I'll read it." I was so excited when near the front there was a picture of David Draiman. I flipped through the rest of the magazine and was positively THRILLED to see that they had an interview with Disturbed. I was crushed and sorely disappointed to find out that it was an interview about them breaking up the band. I'm still upset about it actually. Now I'm not so sure I'll ever get to see them live. I totes regret not going to see them when they were here last September. Oh well... Danika reassures me that "bands do this all the time. They'll get back together." Knowing that didn't make it any less difficult to deal with though. I mean, the love of my life was not only getting married but his band wasn't together anymore! Since then I had refused to listen to them willingly or wear any of their shirts I have. I wore my David Draiman hoodie the other day only because it was the one clean one I had. But today I actually watched a Disturbed music video to see how I was feeling. I can say that I probably wouldn't turn the radio off if they came on but I'm not ready to listen to them all day everyday again.
Hmm... I can't think of anything else really... OH! wait!
Tomorrow night I'm going to see JUDAS PRIEST in concert! Haha! I'm so excited :) Then, I'm staying at Danika's and the next day... We're having a double party! We're having an Oblivion/Research party! I can't wait to show Danika my new outfit. I've tried real hard to think of what I can do to make the outfit more perfect. I've got a few ideas and I hope it turns out well!
I am so in love with someone who has eyes and squeezable muscles.... I love him more than David Draiman :)

It's been a long week!
I had horrible luck in Oblivion over the weekend. I was trying so hard to complete this stupid quest for the Gray Fox. I'm like three quests away from being done with the thieves guild! It can't come fast enough. But anyways, I was trying to finish the quest and I just could not figure out what I was doing wrong. So I decided to work on another quest for a while. I had just gotten in a fight with a bear when I got the notification that I could level up! I was so excited! That news totally made up for my frustrations with the thieves guild quest. Does happiness ever last? NOT IN OBLIVION! The stupid bear killed me before I could save! I was so mad and upset that I almost cried. Oblivion life isn't fair. That happened Friday and I haven't played since. I hope the Oblivion guru can help me on Wednesday! :)
I'm doing so much better in my ASL class! At least that's the feeling I got from class the last couple times. I think it's finally starting to click. Which is very exciting! I hope I can get into the interpreting program after this round of ASL3...
I took my computer to be fixed on Saturday. I miss it horribly. I hope I get it back tomorrow or Wednesday. Then I get to make a trip up to Best Buy to get a new battery for it! I'm also hoping to get a new camera. I sure do love my tax return money! ;D
Last but not least.... Boot Camp update! Only like 76 more days or so until it's over!!! :D Just kiddin. Actually what I mean by that is the first week hasn't been too bad. I stayed within my points and hardly touched my weekly points! Except on Super Bowl Sunday of course. Even then I didn't go waaay overboard. I set my long term goal and picked out my most awesome reward for when I complete it! I'm so excited! I love Ghost Hunters and T.A.P.S. so I picked out a T.A.P.S. jacket as my prize! I can totally do this. Jason and Grant are worth it! ;)

Dreading Tomorrow
You'd think that seeing my mom losing weight with Weight Watchers and then working for them would be this awesome motivation to get going myself. I mean, I have my own "personal leader", I'm very familiar with the food plans, and I've seen Weight Watchers' system work magic. You might also think that my mom would force me to follow the weight loss program and I'd do it just to make her happy. WRONG!
I know I'm capable of losing the weight and eating healthy. I actually don't mind my fruits, veggies, and other healthy food at all. I've even lost a lot of weight before. Why then, do I have my DOCTOR telling me I need to lose weight? Why don't I just stick to a plan and get myself to a place where I'd be happy with my health? I've had every opportunity and resource available to me and still I have my doctor getting after me. Here's the plain and simple truth of it all: I'm not willing to put forth the effort. I also love food and hate exercise. I've given my mom every excuse you could possibly think of and then some. Of course she didn't buy into any of them. Surprised? You shouldn't be.
I've heard about all the times my mom has done her boot camp for work. I've heard about all the people who write her letters wanting in and say they're willing to do anything and everything it takes to do this. Sometimes she's done it where only a few people can get in. Then I've also heard of the many people who've dropped out. How screwed up is that? I mean seriously, you get into boot camp which means someone else didn't. Then you choose to not follow through and thereby deprive someone else of an amazing opportunity. Yes, boot camp is hard and intimidating. But YOU are the one CHOOSING to do it. My mom doesn't twist anyone's arm to do it.
My mom approached me and asked me if I'd like to get involved with boot camp this time. Normally I would've said: "You're seriously asking me that?" and then laughed at the absurdity of it all. I mean, come on this is me we're talking about. However, this time I said I'd think about it. When I was thinking, I had the following thought. What if I did it just to show her members that even someone as weight loss resistant as me can do it? Then they'd have absolutely no excuses.

So, if for no other reason, I'm choosing to do boot camp this time. I want to be able to look my mom's classes in the eye and say I did it. Now it's time for them to step it up. The opportunity was GIVEN to me. They CHOSE to do it. I'm totally going to be able to do this. :) I like to think I'm very capable and INDESTRUCTIBLE person. Food isn't my enemy; my attitude is my enemy. I owe this to myself. If I'm telling her classes to step it up, I need to as well. I'm here to show myself who's boss. I don't care how scared I am to lose weight and be healthy. I don't care that this will be the hardest thing I've done in a very long time. It's about time I do something productive with my life.
I love my boys in Disturbed and their song 'Indestructible' (off their album with the same name) is going to keep me motivated :)

Epic Oblivion Party
Danika and I had THE most epic DAP party ever on Friday! Like seriously! After work we went on an adventure to the magical land of Del Taco and got much, much tacos. All delicious of course! We came home, watched a couple episodes of Golden Girls. (love that show!) then we got to work playing Oblivion.
We had two TVs set up in my basement so we could both play our games at the same time. It was our most brilliant plan yet. We started playing around maybe 8:45. Before we knew it, it was midnight. We were playing so much our PS3s kept freezing up. :D We decided to take a little break and watch a couple more episodes of Golden Girls. All in all, we didn't go to bed until maybe 5:00 in the A.M.! It was so worth it though. We fell asleep and didn't get up until noon! I haven't slept in that late in I don't know how long.
After we woke up, we played some more Oblivion. Surprised? You shouldn't be :) After a couple hours we headed upstairs to make some pizza rolls. Those... are so yummy! We watched Golden Girls while we ate.
Then we got back down to our Oblivion business. Danika and I had started the Mages Guild together. If it wasn't for her... the dumb deranged zombies would've been my downfall. Grr...
For dinner we had PB&J sandwiches and faux cup o noodles. We played more Oblivion and watched more Golden Girls until she went home about 8:00. The most frustrating and tedious part of the night? Not being able to find a stupid spell for snowballs. Or was it Ice? Who knows?! Point being we finally found one in the Imperial Market District.
Danika is the bestest person to play Oblivion with. She's so good at it! She helped me pick locks, kill zombies, and give me hints on how to do things. We also discovered that you cannot wait while you're in mid-air. "Follow the red arrow" was the advice I was most given while playing. It's more helpful than I might think. :) I was sooo happy when I could finally go to a church and pray at the altar. I was glad to get my personality back. :) In short, Oblivion is AMAZING!
